Green Bee was created by New Milton Sand & Ballast to link Business, Education and the Environment by working on special projects, with Primary and Secondary Schools, Guides, Brownies and Scout Groups within the New Forest catchment area.
Within the last three years New Milton Sand & Ballast has sponsored the creation of gardens with a particular emphasis in creating a habitat which will encourage wildlife within the grounds of residential homes. The winner proved they understood the ecological benefits and in doing so brought pleasure to the residents – well done to the three winners.
1. 1st Lymington Brownies
2. 1st Hordle Brownie Pack
3. 1st New Milton Brownie Pack
In the second year the brief was the regeneration of redundant areas within school grounds and to return areas which will have a specific educational value for pupils' personal development the awards went to:
1. Sopley Primary School
2. Lymington Junior School
3. Ballard School
The most recent competition was a poster campaign open to New Forest Schools to design a poster for display within the National Park discouraging litter and encouraging waste recycling. Our Lady & St Joseph School were the worthy winners closely run by Tiptoe Primary School and Moyles Court School.
