PUPILS at Ashley Infant School in New Milton spent the day touring the Caird Avenue base of New Milton Sand and Ballast.
Deputy site manager Steve Hole took the children around and showed them what went on there on a daily basis.
Sarah Dawson, class teacher, said: “They had a brilliant time and really enjoyed looking at all the vehicles. Steve Hole was great and made us very welcome. The children loved seeing how the vehicles moved and watching the cab spin!”
NMSB’s managing director, Trevor Poole, said: “We’re a community company and aim to help schools out with visits like this. It helps children in their understanding of where materials used in every day life - like gravel and aggregates - come from and how they get to where they are used, whether it’s in their school playground or along the garden path at home.”
