The results of a company-sponsored archaeological dig at Pennington have been published by the Hampshire Field Club and Archaeological Society.
The dig unearthed fascinating evidence of a significant coastal salt-making industry from centuries gone by, revealing a former rich industrial use for this site, that was hitherto thought to be pastoral in nature.
