New Milton Sand and Ballast is supporting the Green Goals project - a unique partnership linking football, education and business with the aims of improving the local environment, raising awareness and benefiting the community as a whole.
The New Forest based firm is working in partnership with AFC Bournemouth, Bournemouth Borough Council and other partners, on the initiative which links together sustainability, football, education and business. It aims to raise awareness of green issues throughout the community and improve the local environment, making it a safer and cleaner place to live.
New Milton Sand & Ballast will work with The Green Goals on a series of events over the 2010/11 football season including the production of educational packs, clean-up days and competitions to win football prizes such as match day tickets or official merchandise.
Trevor Poole, managing director of New Milton Sand and Ballast, said: ''As a business we're passionate about sustainable community benefits, so we're very proud to be involved with this project. Over the coming months we will be actively promoting and supporting the campaign in a whole range of ways, alongside the Cherries, the Council and other partners.''
''We like to think that we achieve a number of “Green Goals” in our own right with our development of quality recycled aggregate with coveted ISO 9001 independent accreditation. We believe that our own business objectives are exactly aligned with the Green Goals project and we are sure that it will be a great success.''
New Milton Sand and Ballast will be sharing news of their Green Goals activity, over the coming weeks and months. For more information visit http://www.bournemouth.gov.uk/Residents/Waste_Recycling/Street_care/green_goals.asp
