A natural, not pigmented, mortar made with sand, cement, water and a blend of admixtures which retards the setting time by 36 or 72 hours. An air entrainer is also present to enhance the mobility and gives the mix a creamy consistency.
Four classes of mortar are available, class 1 to 4, and their typical uses are detailed below.
Class 1 and 2 - Used below damp proof course with Class 1 commonly used
Class 3 and 4* - For use above ground. Class 3 is accepted as the mix for general building when laid with a bucket handle type joint finish
*The use of Class 3 and 4 Mortar is dependent on the exposure rating for the location of the construction. You should always seek clarification from your architect or engineer for the correct class of mortar.
Ready to use mortar for your site is a consistent, clean and tidy option to site mixing and does not require dedicated space for a mortar silo. For larger sites we deliver a minimum of 1m³ in a minimix and discharge into tubs onsite which we supply.
For smaller projects we deliver individual 0.25m³ tubs through Steve Perrins and are crane off loaded at your site.
You can also collect mortar from our mortar plant at Corfe Mullen. Mortar is a made to order product.
