Getting to know NMSB – Concrete and screed
Concrete and screed are fundamental products in the construction industry, they make up the foundations of every build.
We have four plants:
- Caird Avenue, New Milton
- Hurn, Christchurch
- Elliott Road, Kinson
- Wimborne
Our New Milton, Christchurch and Wimborne plants provide a BSI standard product, and our Elliott Road depot is renowned for providing the best collect concrete in the area.
We produce ready mixed concrete, screed and liquid screed. We have an in-house technical team available to support our customers with specialist design mixes, cube testing, and quality control. For complex concrete pours such as those subject to water ingress, adverse weather conditions, hazardous soil, or unstable ground, there are many solutions that can be used to ensure your concrete mix is suitable for its purpose.
We also work closely with BSI to ensure the quality of our concrete, so you can be assured that the concrete delivered is up to standard and has the accreditations to prove it.
Ready Mixed Concrete
We produce ready-mix concrete made from our own quarried aggregates or we can supply the raw materials (aggregates and cement) if you would prefer to mix your own concrete on site.
We offer various delivery options, you can have your concrete delivered to you wet in a mixer, or dry on a tipper, depending on the required slump. We can pour concrete into hard-to-reach locations, whether you need to lay concrete in an upstairs room using a boom pump or need a line pump to transport the concrete to areas beyond vehicle access.
Screed
Floor screed is made up of cement, concreting sand, and water, meaning it can be used to give a smooth final finish to a floor, or as a subbase for traditional internal flooring. Our screed is available from any of our concrete plants and is widely used by local flooring companies, both small and large, whether it is delivered or collected from us on their own vehicles.
Liquid screed
We have recently partnered with Longfloor® to produce Integracure and Integracure Rap7D. Liquid screed is an up-and-coming product in the construction industry and is revolutionising the flooring process. It uses a binder system which promotes flow, prevents bleed and segregation, and minimises shrinkage, no curing agent is required and there is no requirement for sanding and pumping. Dappling requires minimal manual handling and in most conditions can be walked on from 48 hours.
