Celebrating Community in New Milton
This June, we are proud to celebrate not only our 88th anniversary but also the achievements of our vibrant New Milton community!
Supporting the New Milton Men's Shed
We're thrilled to witness the grand opening of the New Milton Men's Shed, a project we've championed since its inception. We offered our workshops as a temporary home for projects while their new space was under construction, and even provided materials and labour to help bring their vision to life.
The new Men's Shed isn't just a workshop -- it's a hub for sharing skills, knowledge, and camaraderie. Now, members can undertake even more projects, like the educational bug boxes and the impressive House Martin Tower they created for us. But most importantly, this warm and welcoming space fosters social connection for its members.
Commemorating D-Day at the New Milton Memorial Centre
We were honoured to attend the town's D-Day 80 Commemorative Concert at the New Milton Memorial Centre, a venue we proudly helped by assisting with the roof replacement last year. The evening was filled with music from the New Forest Rock Choir and the Bournemouth Concert Brass band, with enthusiastic flag waving and singalongs from the audience.
Investing in Our Community
As we celebrate our 88th year in business in New Milton, Chairman Michael Badcock reflects on the legacy of community investment established by his father, Donald Badcock:
"Being able to attend the town's remembrance of D-Day on Saturday and hearing about the Men's Shed Project gives me much pleasure", Michael says, " and to reflect on the ongoing commitment to the community of New Milton by NMSB."
