NMSB Sponsors Daily Echo School Awards 2022

  • 13/04/2022

NMSB were proud to support the Daily Echo School Awards 2022 that took place last month. Sponsoring the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Teacher of the Year award, we joined a host of other Bournemouth businesses passionate about celebrating the achievements of individuals working in such an essential sector throughout the pandemic.

NMSB Managing Director, Rob Flower, recognised the awards as a way of celebrating the ‘unyielding commitment to ensuring local children learn.’ In addition, with STEM education encompassing the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, we felt that as experts in vital mineral supply, sponsoring this award made perfect sense.

As a company, we are passionate about promoting the STEM industries as a career pathway for children, building awareness that the industry proposes many opportunities for those with a flair for science and engineering.

The awards came after a two year hiatus, with the categories celebrating all areas of the education sector – from teachers and teaching assistants to those who should be recognised for their lifetime commitment to teaching. Congratulations to the winner of the STEM Teacher of the Year Award – Andrew McVean of Glenmoor and Winton Academy.

Congratulations Andrew McVean of Glenmoor and Winton Academy. One of our quarries may be able to facilitate an astronomy class one day?
