Be part of the story at NMSB

Fancy being part of an essential industry in the development and maintenance of the UK infrastructure, and for the improvement of people’s everyday lives?

Working for a ‘sand and gravel’ company is definitely not what it appears. We are linked into the DNA of a whole host of other important industries who would quite literally fall apart without us! The main one being the construction industry. After a challenging few years, the construction industry is continuing to stay strong and set to grow. We need more houses, better infrastructure, and larger more efficient spaces to live in. So what better time than now to get on board!

With around 160 staff across sites in Hampshire and Dorset, our operations today include three quarries, four concrete plants, four sites/depots, one recycling centre, two builder’s merchants and our head office. From product creation to machinery enhancement, or development of our people. There are many disciplines involved in the business that you wouldn’t necessarily think of: Engineering, Technical, Transport and Logistics, Product Development, Production, H&S, Procurement, Training, Finance, Marketing and of course Sales and Customer Services… the list goes on and on.

Expanding on 86 years’ experience of supporting the local community to build, we find ourselves again, in the fortunate and exciting position of growth and expansion. NMSB value hard work and dedication, we reward our staff, and encourage progression, therefore we are looking for people who are creative and thrive on a challenge. We have a great working environment with impressive work benefits, so if you are looking to progress your career get in touch.

“NMSB are a fantastic company to work for. I have been supported to develop my career with professional training and find all my colleagues and the management approachable, warm and, importantly, have a great sense of humour.” Alex Bellis, Accounts Administrator.

"I am really appreciative of NMSB in supporting me with my change of direction and the training being provided to become a Quarry Manager. Downton is a particularly beautiful quarry with an outstanding restoration programme. There is a lot to manage, a lot to learn and always a technical challenge to overcome, but I love my job and that’s something that a lot of people are not able to say!" Steve Tucker, Assistant Quarry Manager.
